Inclusive
Pack 285 boasts members from all corners of the world, has multiple languages spoken in many of our homes, and diverse religious and non-religious backgrounds.
We welcome all types of families, so long as they are rooted in love for their children.
We are the largest pack in the district with ~65 Scouts and 16 girls, including Cubmaster Ron’s daughter.
Troop 285 is our older program for our girls, boys, and non-binary youth who age out of Cub Scouts.
Green
Pack 285 is environmentally focused. We are paperless, digital, conservation minded, and wear kelly green Class B shirts to find one another both in the woods and in a crowd.
We police line our green spaces after every event, seek out conservation projects to protect flora and fauna, and host campout meals and snacks in bulk to reduce single serve waste.
Pack 285 makes a point to leave each space cleaner than we found it.
Relaxed
A uniform shirt, neckerchief, and belt let our Cub Scouts display their bits and baubles, but the rest of the uniform isn’t as important.
We use both Class A (traditional blue or tan uniforms) and Class B (green t-shirts with 285 Logo) uniforms. Class A’s are for meetings and ceremonies, while Class Bs are for camping and messy activities.
A green Class B is given to a Scout on their first meeting after signup. Our Class Bs are in heavy use because we get messy a lot.

With ~65 active Cub Scouts, we are large, loud, and elbows deep in adventure. Our inclusive, diverse, conservation-minded Pack has fantastic retention rate and a top-rated program (Gold). All youth welcome (girls, boys, non-binary). Fundraising is elective – never required.
We have a jam-packed calendar that focuses on the outdoors and host the Pinewood Derby. We have 16 girls, including Cubmaster Ron’s daughter.
Troop 285 is our linked Scout unit for 6th-12th grade girls, boys, and non-binary youth. We camp monthly, do service quarterly, and are headed to the mountains of North Carolina for summer camp at Camp Daniel Boone. They meet on Thursday nights at 6:30pm.
